  Shoegazing today is not necessarily a musical genre but rather a state of mind. From the 90's bands like My Bloody Valentine, Swervedriver, Cocteau Twins or Jesus & Mary Chains sounded very different from each other. This record does not offer another compilation of an expected shoegaze, but a selection of bands that embody this heritage, modernizing it with their own styles, references, creative approach and live performances.
  
  Their shoegazer influences and/or attitudes are there! They contribute to their own sound identity. You will therefore find on this record bands that also defining themselves as post-punk, punk, garage, coldwave, psychedelic rock, experimental, pop, dream-pop, grunge, noise, post-hardcore... all driven by the very essence of shoegazing : the decibels and the pedals passion.
  
  The idea for the Nouveau Souvenir Records label is not to lock itself into a musical genre but to open up to the spectrum of contemporary shoegazing to make people discover all its diversity.
